This card is from the good people over at www.asexuality.org. (And I hope the Dutch in the title makes some sense. :) )

Ah, cake and purple bananas. Yumyum. Thanks everybody!!!!
Thanks for the card. it's a very neat one!
That's a very nice card. Thanks everybody
The Dutch in the title does make sense, because I do understand what you mean to say. But I do wonder what you mean by ( Het grote beeld), if you translate that back into English it says: the big screen
Eerder stond daar; large image. Maar toen was het plaatje ook een stuk groter.

yeah, but once we posted this one on all the AVEN's two things happened - one I exceeded my bandwidth and had to move the image to another host (and for some reason www.animaldetective.com makes the images smaller than geocities did. EDIT: Teh card is huge on the all other aven's, so I'm not sure why its smaller here. But I think you all have the best size to view it.
And two, you guys were the only ones who had an English title - it didn't look right. I thought if I only translated small amount of texts it would make sense, but I guess not. I wonder what the titles on the other AVEN's say...
At any rate, you've got a taste of how I sometimes read your posts :). If you don't capitalize the E in English my translator says you are talking about angels. I'm guessing I should have written something like groter plaatje, which according to my translator means "lager plate." :)
we're all asexual angels. 'innocent smile'
Wow, that card is cooL! thanks for the cake, we were all addicted yet so it's a really good gift!

Groot plaatje would be right. But larger plate would have been very funny :rollol:
Thanks for the card! :)

Hmm, well you make good friends, are the most sociable group I've visited in my pamphlet quest....
Here's something. I've heard some say the American's were like the French .That's an evil insult and about as low as you can get. If you comapre us to the French you probably would be threatening me with large blades.
vriendin probably means "next victim"
"Alle nieuwtjes over het forum komen hier." probably means all newbies come here to be locked in a dungeon :D
ack, she's on to us! >_>

That's a weird comparisson! For one, the French completely refuse to speak English, something you cannot accuse Americans of :D

I seem to encounter such comparisons when talking to any European. Personally, I think the American/French personal feud is ridiculous, especially when it gets to the point of renaming things like french fries. But still, don't insult me by saying I'm like the French :D. I suppose maybe the rest of the world just sees both the French and the Americans as being stubborn and thats where the comparison lies.

I'm doubting its that tame though
Literally it says something like: are you throwing abuse at me (and now I really hope that my translation makes sense ;D )
But what we mean by it is: what on earth are you saying? It's something we say when somebody uses a very difficult or incomprehensible word. Aren't languages funny? :D

well the computer seems to have taken away my "s" with a squiggle on it, but what I was saying was "I'm going to town."
I'll let you find out which language I was using on your own ;D
I really should be able to do that because quite a few years ago I've had some lessons in language recognition, but I'm too lazy to try and find the textbook :D My guess is that it might be Latin or Spanish. Is that even close?

I didn't even know that expression :D. Must be something purely dutch, or maybe I'm just linguistically impaired ;D.

Let's find out if other Dutch or Belgian members do know the expression, before we declare you linguistically impaired ;D
Dus: wie kent de uitdrukking "gaan we schelden"?

yes, it is Romanian. That's like the only thing i learned when i was with my ex-boyfriends mother. I went to town to keep her from trying to feed me hugmungous portions of a variety of things every 3 minutes.

Definitely, and I'll bet you know loads of expressions that we don't! Big :knuffel: to make you feel better? Or would you rather have some :cake: ?
